just need to vent

I joined a dating website recently. I thought maybe I could meet a nice girl and after dating a while and getting to really know each other, it would be easier to tell her about my hsv. I went on one date so far and that didn't work out. But I started talking to another girl. She works in a doctors office and says she has a germ phobia. And in just regular conversation she says "I could never date a guy with herpes" its like she was reading my mind. Theres no way she could have known. But it deflated me so quickly. This is going to be ao difficult. I'm going to get crushed out here in the dating world.

    I found out this week I have herpes and am in a relationship that is over 7 years.

    I will say this to you: Don't let the opinion of a girl dictate how you feel about yourself.

      That's very inspirational, it gives lots of us hope knowing that there are people that will love you for you. If you don't mind me asking, does your partner have it also?

    Just take your time with it.... I know it's easier said than done but we kinda have no other choice... I'm sure when the time is right, we'll find that special someone...it's better to start off as friends I think,,,, that way you'll develope feelings and trust as well as the person might be more understanding and willing to love you for you. But when you're just meeting someone, it's less likely for a person to just agree to put themselves at risk. Just be patient, you'll find that special someone.

    Don't worry about that girl. Look there dating sites for people with hsv. It should not matter which sites u go on. You need to find someone understanding. You will one day. Just found out got herpes but had some guys amaze me with responses not negative at all. Guy friends have been more amazing than my women friends seriously lol. So when ready to date again I will feel nervous telling the first guy but honestly if reaction bad won't let it put me on.

    have you considered going on a dating site made just for people with herpes? I am going to give it a try. 1 out of every 5 people have herpes and I feel like it's better that way...you don't have to worry about giving to someone and you don't have to dread telling them. Just a thought sweetie smile

    I am from US. And I have looked at a couple of hsv dating sites. Unfortunately, there aren't many people in my area listed. I guess they are too embarrassed to list themselves. Maybe I will just join a monastery. Lol. I know I shouldn't have such a negative outlook. But right now, my dating options seem very minimal.

      Im in the same boat...im in us too and I am lucky if there are 3 people...but I won't give up complete hope...I refuse actually smile
