Just not me at all!

Posted , 7 users are following.

Found this forum and was glad to see others have the same symptoms I am feeling, sorry anyone feels this way, but I thought I was crazy! Had partial hysterectomy in 1995 amd I will be 49 in 2 weeks, still have ovaries (obviously useless) and have been fine until last Christmas. Noticed I had no energy at all, wanted to sleep, frustrated easily and wanted to be alone. Started taking Black Kohash for what I felt were hot flashes. No real relief. After feeling like I may lose my mind with flashes, nausea, insomnia, etc...I was prescribed Estradiol .25 patch and bioidentical Progesterone 100mg. This is day 3. I still feel like just total poo! I cried in front of my students last week, house a mess, care about nothing...is there an end to this? How long before these meds kick in? I just am not ME at all! I could tell you all my symptoms but that would be more of a novel:-(

    Hi Michelle,

I know exactly where you are my dear!

I had the same nonsense . I really thought I was going out of my mind also !

I was willing to try anything! So my Dr put me on Premerin. It is pill form taken daily. I started about a year ago. I am definitely much better! If I remember it took a few weeks to feel the full effect. But I'm sorry I really don't know about the patch. all I do know is, you will be back to you very soon, hang in.

It really stinks going through this! Take Care!

    Hi Michelle

I am on the same patch as you. Did you mean 3.25 instead of .25 ?

I am on the 100mg progesterone tablet to.

I have been on them nearly 6 weeks now. I felt some effect by week 3. It takes a while to get in your body x

I am 40 and started Peri or noticed that I was in Peri about 5 months ago and experienced all of your symptoms along with a host of others for almost two months. I started a woman's one a day and am almost back to my normal self.

    Hi,

I really do feel for you, it's interesting that most of us go through this "wanting to be alone", no you're not crazy at all.

I just wanted to say that your doctor sounds goo -, daily (or thereabouts), urine testing is ideal, - more "sensitive" way of testing, rather than taking blood.  Especially in relation to thyroid too:  should  give a more accurate picture of thyroid hormone levels, (blood tests are not always helpful).

Hopefully in 3 weeks doctor will be able to decide how best to help.

So hang on in.  I found when I tried 0.25 patch I could not sleep, felt tired, wired, too much progesterone can make you feel "groggy".

It maybe that your thyroid is the culprit.  It is a fine balancing act with hormones, it really is difficult.

I wish you well and speak from experience here.

Also other things to try is watching diet, possiby eating little and often may help.  You probably do already.

PS. at 53.5  -  little sugar, no more than 3-4 units of alcohol per week.  Gone are my weekend glasses of wine.  I really watch my diet and exercise often.

I still an searching for answers, and like you i feel I want to be alone too, so still not there yet be any means.

Good luck with tests, I am willing to bet these urine tests will ge really helpful!

    Stay strong!
