I was on citalopram for 8 years ( suffered really bad night sweats and put on 2 stone)
Came off them as felt didn't need them , I lost weight , night sweats no more but depression started again
so went on sertraline as didn't want sweats and weight gain , sweats came back with a vengeance having to get up in night have a shower change bed EVERY NIGHT! So after 9 weeks Dr changed me to fluoxetine I started them 4 days ago , I'm still having sweats at min as only just changed but I'm also really tearful distancing my self from everyone generally feel crap
Does anyone suffer from night sweats on these if so does it go eventually can't keep going through this and I know it's going to take time for the tabs to kick in just wish some one would come up with a wonder drug for depression

I have been on flu for 49 days now and yes to begin with I also suffered terrible night sweats. They have all but gone now. I also was very teary and even more anxious to begin with unfortunately this is the way this drug works
but it does get better. Altho I feel better I also feel that the current dose (20mg) has just 'taken the edge of' my symptoms and would maybe look to up my dose but have decided to wait untul the 60 day mark and then discuss with my Dr as lots of people on here have had experience with this and it can take a while to reach its full effect. I have been where you are and would say try to stick with it, talk to people close to you who understand, and just take one day at a time. I visited this site every single day for the first few weeks.....just for reassurance and it helped a great deal.

I've recently started on flux , now on day 20 . I've not experienced night sweats
What I have though is insomnia high anxiety in the morning soon as I wake
Also I did have the initial nausea , tired ,
Loss of appetite feelings but these were only minor and have past
My only concern now is this insomnia
I'm due to see the doc on Thursday

Yes I had the night sweats & the day sweats when I first started taking flu. They tapered off about 3 weeks into taking flu. Also I cried at least 5 times a day & had the worst anxiety I had ever felt but this too lasted 3 weeks or so the tapered off to a more even balance. Stick with it, I know it's hard to do when you feel so down & crap but there will be light at the end of the tunnel. I'm coming up to week 6 & I am starting to feel more like the old me. I used to wake up each morning feeling anxious & down but swallowed the tablets saying as I did so "another day nearer the finishing line". Take care it will get better
