Hey guys
I had an ECG Friday which came back normal. My heart rate was 90, which is higher than my usual 73ish but that was due to the situation.
I’m just still worried there’s something Wrong with my heart..... I’m still getting chest pains, which feels like burning/pressure in the middle. Also been getting the sensation I can’t swallow at other times. (Dr flippantly prescribed omeprazole for Acid reflux!) 😦
I’ve been on Citalopram 20mg for 12 days now, most of the side effects have subsided now, I’m sleeping well, eating great, still have super dry mouth and odd bouts of crying. But so much better than last week.
I have stopped taking Propanalol for my anxiety - was taking when I needed it. I stopped 2 days ago as it has been giving me really dry/itchy sore skin.
Bit of background ——- I am average weight, don’t smoke, drink or do drugs & no history of heart problems in my family. My diet could be better and exercise more. But hey...
Am I worrying for no reason???? I keep thinking I’m going to die from a heart attack.
thank you for listening x

Most of your problems seem to be anxiety. If you had an ecg done and everything is normal, take it at that and be happy. 12 days in, you're still in the verrrrry early stages on yhis med. It works super slow and takes more time for others. All our bodies are different. You have to look at where you were before you started. If youve made improvements, the meds are working. Just hive em time.

first of all well done for for going through the side effects of cit and you will continue to improve as time goes by, alot of people suffer the symptoms of anxiety in many ways, most common is heart palpitations, chest pains, very paranoid your going to die of a heart attack, cit can heighten your anxiety the first week or two causing chest pains etc, i never had chest pains, mine was servere stomach cramping all around, i thought i had stomach cancer so i know how frightening it can get for you, knowledge about your condition is what you should learn so look it up (nervous system) i had health anxiety causing my nervous system to break down causing anxiety and panic and slight depression, no matter what the doctors told me i still didnt listen, i was tested for cancer, blood test, stool test, urine test, even a scan and all came back normal but i still didnt believe until it was too late, i worried so much my nervous system broke down causing anxiety and panic, good luck.
