Honestly I'm on week 7 today and by God I'm nowhere near cured but i just wanted to share my experience so far as i have read so many that have inspired me i need to pay it forward.

    Hey Akens,

So lovely to hear you are feeling better.

The battle with depression/anxiety definitely relies on patience!

All to often we don't think we are getting any better and feel like giving up the meds!

But they really are lifesavers! So lovely when you get that appreciation and zest for life back smile

I'm currently on day 11 of an increased dose from 20mg to 40mg of citalopram. Was surprised to have a lot of the side effects I had when originally started it last year! Am noticing small improvements, am trying to stop myself from trying to rush my progress!

Thanks for your positive experience! smile

Great to hear more good news about Citalopram and that we all have to be very patient under the duress of ongoing symptoms and side-effects. If you stop meds and give up too soon when you get side-effects then its a double-whammy. You feel bad because you have 'failed', and you also feel like nothing will help you. Important to follow Dr advice and get support from positive outlets and opinions.  Messages about 'failed' citalopram experiences are not too helpful as they only scare people who may benefit from beingb on them. Drugs effect people in different ways so important to keep that in mind and not be generalising. Keep believing...

Probably important to realise that most people who are happy with their meds dont go to website forums. Its great that some people are kind enough to write positive success stories though for those who are starting their treatment and need reassurance.  I would encourage success to make the forum as well as any words of caution.
