Hi all just wondering how long you waited from the time you were put on waiting list to the time of your op. I've been waiting 16 weeks now I was hoping it would of been before xmas.

I'm 9 weeks post op now. Brutal it was...but we all get through it some how. I'm a fit independent person and being reduced to invalid status was difficult. Anyway I'm walking unaided well with some pain which most on the forum say is pretty normal. Patience is necessary as there's a long road ahead to recovery. All the best 😊 for when you have your op and stay tuned to the site as there are loads of tkr people offering great advice.

Hi Eileen, I was told by my surgeon that it would be 5 or 6 months on the waiting list. It was just under 6 months so he was pretty accurate. Are you in the U.K.? Waiting lists are different in other health authorities. I am in Hertfordshire. Did your surgeon not give you any idea as to the length of waiting list in your area?

Colleagues kept asking me when my op was & I kept saying don't know!! How long is a piece of string??!! Lol

I hope your op comes along soon.

In the meantime exercise the knee you're to have TKR on as much as you can, you may be able to get a Physio referral to get some easy exercises to do in the intervening time to make it as strong as you can for the work to come after. I saw a chiropractor twice a week in the 4 weeks before my op date, I am convinced she helped.

Whatever you do, good luck & keep your sense of humour.

Have a Happy Christmas 🎄 and keep 😀
