Large bump on belly button after surgery

Hello, im not sure why but i had laparoscopic gallbladder surgery, and i have a lump on my belly button. I went to a doctor and he said i was just "possibly" alergic to the glue. Only the bump is under my skin, large, and is not going away. Its hard to the touch, hurts when touched, and also doesnt go away when I lie down. Im not sure what my next step should be.

    Well, that's troubling.  How long ago did you have the surgery?  I would think this was a question for the surgeon ASAP.  It's not something to guess about--the GP should know better.  If this was the surgeon who said this, I suggest you go to another surgeon.  xx

    Kristen - It will be important to check to see if you have a hernia. This happened to my Mother who had this surgery 2 years ago and she described it exactly as you have here.
