Looking for answers and opinions

My fiancé and I split up in June and I slept with someone else. In October he had ulcers come up inside not outside his mouth and two spots on his genitals. We both went to an STD clinic and had blood work done and he has lesions tested within 48 hrs. His came back negative for everything I came back positive for hsv 1. She gave him valtrex which didn't help at all his pain in his mouth was so bad we went to the er and they said it's not herpes that it's it's an apothous ulcer inside the mouth and can occur on genitals. 3 months later he is having another outbreak this time with eye inflammation. Reading online it sounds to be like Berchets syndrome. Either way we just want answers and can't seem to get them (have an appt Monday for more bloodwork)

If he got the Swab test on the sores within 48 hours it should be accurate. Also, how long ago did he sleep with someone else

Take a few months for blood test antibiotidies to show up , so if for example he slept with someone last week the blood test probably wouldn't show.

A negative swab within 48 hours and no change after the meds is a good sign it's not herpes.

The swab is pretty accurate if properly collected and done within 48 hours, so I wouldn't assume that it's necessarily herpes. Also, although HSV1 can break out inside the month, that's less common. Usually external. I'm sure his doctor can work out what it is instead.
