Lost appetite for three months

Hello everyone,I have read many posts and feel a little guilty being here.But I am lost and afraid I may have stomach cancer.Three months ago I got bad news which devastated me.Straight away I could not eat very little,Put it down to stress/anxiety.Picked up again about 6 weeks later,then another bit of bad news.Since then I have barely eaten and now force feed at least a sandwich a day.My weight has plummeted,so very skinny.I went to my doctor who felt my tummy and uknown to me the upper abdomen was tender.Given my age,weight loss and no appetite he said I needed a endoscopy,which I am having on the 22/07/14.In the meantime a blood test was done and full blood count.i rang my surgery for the results,the receptionist told all was fine except one thing,but was unable to tell me because my doctor was away.I waited all week end to talk to him,he said all was fine nothing wrong.I questioned what the receptionist said,and he said I have no idea why she said this,but I reccomend a urgent endoscopy as it is possible something nasty is growing in there.The receptionist also said not to worry its not life threatning.What I do not understand is why he needed to change my endoscopy to a urgent one.There must have been something in my blood result.I have had a slight upper abdominal discomfort for about a week prior to seeing him,put it down to being hungry.No ther symptoms except slight warmth in tummy after eating.Now I cannot eat anything at all since that news.I am so scared that it is stomach cancer.I just feel my doctor is not telling me all.I have no one to confide in,family all goneI am disabled and no friends as such,I am finding it so hard to deal with this alone.Thankfully I found here!Please forgive me if this sounds petty,I am 65 and do not know were to turn.Thank you for taking the time to read this.od bless all

    It is very hard when you feel afraid and alone . First thing is talk to yourself and say I will fight this .nRequest an urgent phone consultation with your dr and ask the blood results to be explained with all possible implications and do not accept ...no / hedging / delay . 

    Once you have some info you can plan the next action but you do not know yet what you are fighting .

      Thank you so much for your reply and kindness.I spoke to my doctor again today asking again if there was anything at all in my blood test,if there were I would like to know.He replied no everything is clear.I also told him I was continuing to lose three pounds per day,and could see me being admitted to hospital.His reply was that is possible,but nothing can be done till endoscopy results.On reading many posts my heart andoul goes to everyone with this awful disease,they endure so much yet find the strength to keep going out.Should I be fortunate and find it is not cancer I will always return here to remind myself of how lucky I am.From this day forward all will be with me in my prayers.Although we do not know each other your kindness will never be forgotten.I do not feel so lonely now.My very best wishes to you and all here

    Hi there, how are you now? What was the findings after endoscopy? I also have the same situation as you have right now. I dont feel like eating anymore and i just force feed not to pass out. I badly need help also this time. Godbless

      Hi poach,the endoscopy showed h pylori,had 14 days of different antibiotics plus lansoprazole.It is now three weeks since finishing treatment,sorry to say nothing has changed.I did have a couple of windows shortly after treatment that I felt I wanted to eat,but that passed very quickly,I battle every day to keep my weight at 117 pounds to 118 pounds,,seems I am losing this fight,most of my body fat/mass has gone,feel weak,zero appetite.I did get vaginal thrush after treatment,which was persistant,ended up with having two treatments to get rid of it.Now getting stomach cramps every morning,followed by needing a bowel movement.I do get occasional cramps during the day.Also feel I might now have piles,due to specks of blood on toilet paper,itching,soreness.Recently saw my doctor about weight loss,he says he has no idea why I still do not want to eat,so now being reffered to a specialist,could be Christmas or after before I see him,right now unless my eating changes,I feel it is possible I might be admitted to hospital,do not think my body can go on this way.Cancer of the stomach and ulcers were ruled out.I am so sorry you are having much the same symptom as myself in regards to eating.Have you seen your doctor?Have you had any tests done? We are all very different and we all get different symptoms,so please try not to think that what I have is what you might have,many things can cause stomach issues,lack of appetite.I have hunted the internet trying to find anyone that still has problems after h pylori,yet again I could still have it,cannot be tested for another two months at least.Please see your doctor if you have not as yet.It could be something easily put right,what are your symptoms? Is it just lack of appetite? Keep in touch and I hope yo get better soon.Stomach problems cause so much misery for so many.Take care x
