The last 2 days I've experienced lower abdominal pain and cramping, also very loud stomach noises also mixed with diarrhea. No vomiting or fever. No history of IBS or anything and recently had a clear colonoscopy done. My question is do you think stomach bugs can cause strictly digestive issues without nausea or fever or other stomach flu symptoms? Do I have any reason to worry? I have a CT scan of my abdominal and pelvic region scheduled in a few days, that will surely see anything.

Stomach bugs can cause all sorts of digestive issues from abdominal pain, cramping, diarrhoea nausea, fever and/or vomiting. Different bugs cause different symptoms and how they affect us varies from person to person .Have you eaten anything unusual recently that might have disagreed with you or was off? Are you on any medications which can cause upset stomachs? It may well be a stomach infection, but you should not worry because stress can irritate the gut more and anxiety will not give you any answers any quicker than the scans you are having.
If there is anything to be seen, a CT scan would pick it up. However, you should also be prepared for a clear scan which you should take as a good sign. A clear colonoscopy is a good start.

If it goes away within another 2 days you have nothing to worry about.

What were the results of your CT scan?
