Hi guys,
I'm sure I won't be first to have lower back injurie. I'm a yoga teacher and doing lots of acrobatics. About 9 weeks ago I had an injurie, I was lifting my acro partner from floor by pulling the arms with her legs against my thighs. It did not work and right after I started feeling discomfort in my lower back and could not bare the weight on my legs while laying down. Couldnt even fully extend legs in to 90 degree angle. I have done 5 weeks of Physio and my condition was improving, I started slowly with yoga and on second class I felt the movement was bit too much even though I took it easy. Next day I couldn't move again. I went to see a orthopeadic surgeon who suspected same as physio, bulging disc. I had MRI, which was negative, EMG as well Negative and some blood tests which I'm waiting results for but most probably negative too as I did not hear from them (standard practice, not to call when all si good). I had all this treatment done through private insurance but now hit the rock bottom as I have no more options through insurance and have no choice but go back to NHS so no more private. Did any of you experiences same or similar results when you are constatnly in pain in lower back, limited in movement, can reach just by my knees no further (as yoga teacher thats really bad). The pain is quiet intense and expanded through my left leg too ( I feel weaknes in leg and tingling). The only way I can cope every day is on pain killers. Any ideas for treatmenet or which specialist could look at this and have more answers?

If the MRI etc dose not show any thing than it might be a little tightness in some of your joints muscles or may be bit injury. I am not a doctor but I am suffering from bulge disc from 2014 and done the surgery in 2017. Still in pain and done a lot of searching about this. So in my uneducated mind it will be what I stated above. Just take a time and stay indoors take a bed rest use some painkillers.hopefully you will get normal. If you can just do a couple of stretches some time the day. God give you and give me normal life without pain.
Hope you got my point.

Welcome to the lower back pain group, I've been a member for 13 years. I injured my back doing crunches. I would love to see you not continue on these pain pills if it can be helped. I don't know what kind your on but I've been on them for a very long time... many many years and in today's environment where everybody's trying to stop us from using them you may find yourself dependent on them and then sometime your doctor tells you you can't have any. Judging from the way you were talking about private insurance and NHS I'm guessing you're not in the US probably in the UK I'm assuming. Not sure what tests to recommend because an MRI is really the best route to go. And to me it sounds like you've had everything you should had done but rest assured there's a thousand people whose problems have not showing up on Imaging but still had problems. It is frustrating for people like you who haven't got the solid evidence on an image to state what is wrong with your back. But since the pain is going down your leg one has to assume it's some type of pinched nerve causing neuropathy. Please do not stay in bed that's the worse thing you can do. Keep moving that is absolutely key with this type of injury. Use ice or heat on it as needed. However even though you think you been easy your body is telling you you weren't, so try it again and go even easier. Take this thing slow and easy and don't try working your lower back. Try working your core muscles I'm sure your physical therapist gave you exercises to do. Those are the exercises you should continue to do and not try to work on your lower back at all. There is a really good site that is very supportive for chronic pain patients but I'm not really going to recommend it to you for that purpose my real purpose for recommending it to you is because there are a lot of people on this site that I think might be able to give you some advice. There's so many people across the world on this site that have different types of pain conditions that they may be able to make suggestions that I haven't thought of. Now I think that if I post that website on here it will be monitored and probably deleted so I'm going to send it to you through private email.
