Lump below knee - worried about what it is?

Hi, I'm a 33 year old female and last week noticed a lump underneath my left knee. It feels like bone and seems similar (in position) to the bone on the right-hand side but just larger/more protruding. I forgot about it, assuming it was a bruise, but when I was kneeling down tonight it hurt so I noticed it again and realised it hadn't gone.

Does anyone have any ideas what it may be? Am slightly concerned. The only condition I can see that comes up when searching online (excluding the big 'C'wink is Osgood Schlatter but that says it's pretty much exclusive to teens. It doesn't hurt unless I kneel in it. (Not sure if it's linked, but I had a baby in February).

Many thanks.

Hiya could just be a bony spur. I hsve one on top left of my knee. Best to get it checked out by GP though.

May just be inflammation which will make the bones seem larger then they are suppose to be. If you tweaked your knee some how and its swelled up a bit the area will protrude more and be painful. Definitely get it checked out. They will probably offer a steroid injection or pred to help with inflammation. Good luck and please keep us posted.

    Hi

Osgood shlatter is the only thing i can find to but as you say its mainly in teenagers it does say in most cases it goes by itself

Better to get your GP take a look just to put your mind at rest hope it works out ok.
