hi,
i had a cold, cough and sore throat about 1-2 weeks ago. ive been abit obsessed about a small, moveable lump near my trachea...i cant really feel out on the right side. its really tiny, even smaller then a lump...may have always been there and me touching it has made it sore! anyone else experienced this?

Could just be a tiny lymph node swollen from the recent cold u had. Totally normal. Once your cold is fully gone they eventually go back to normal size. It can take a few weeks sometimes so don't panic if it doesn't go away immediately.

Oh also, if it is a lymph node - they do not like to be poked lol. If you keep touching it, poking at it it usually makes the lymph node stay swollen even longer.

thank you so much for your reply! like i say its only tiny but i can feel it quite easily when i touch it. as well as a cold my ears have only just come unblocked and also i have sore skin on my head from time to time that makes my lymph node on back of head swell (im used to this) so maybe its a combination of it all. ill try my best to leave it. if its still there in a couple of weeks ill go and have it checked over by my gp. it could have been there in the past when ill i just havent felt for it before. i suffer high health anxiety so it plays on my mind a little more (well alot more) then it should. thanks again.

I also have lymph nodes that swell due to my skin! What do you get on ur head? I get a mild psoriasis/dermatitis on my scalp and whenever it flares up the lymph nodes in the back of my head always swell -_- I also get bad acne flare ups occasionally and that causes the nodes under my chin/jaw to swell sometimes too. It's so annoying! I've been to doctor for it and they all say it's normal though if you're someone (like me I guess) with sensitive lymph nodes. Still doesn't help the health anxiety though, used to be terrified I had lymphoma when it first started.

i had eczema on my scalp when younger and even now have flare ups and random sore patches, whenever these flare up or if i get a spot on my head my lymph nodes at back of my neck always swell but only on the side where the sore patches/spots are. the node is always sore to touch when its enlarged too. but yeah i do have sensitive lymph nodes. the little one near my trachea ive never noticed before (maybe cos i havent felt for it) but yesterday my throat felt sore....not sure if it was due to me touching it alot. the glands under my jaw, submegual glands (dont think it spelt right) ive always been able to feel them.

Same I can feel the ones under my jaw all the time! More when I have a breakout/acne flare up. I really wouldn't be concerned at all with any of yours, sounds like you already know the ones on your head + jaw are normal and the throat one is most likely related to your sore throat.
