Lumpy bits on gums

For some years I have had hard lumpy bits where two upper back teeth were removed. From time to time they would feel tender and seem bigger for a few days and settle down. For the past two or three week they have seemingly gone up and don in size several times in the day but no seeming redness or sign of an abscess. While I'm aware of them they are not painful. I've rinsed in salty water two or three time a day but the problem continues.

Has anyone had a similar problem and advice apart from consult a dentist.
