Hello: Yes, after a couple of yrs. on Lyrica for nerve pain and fibromyagia I started bruising especially my arms. Also dark purple blotches on skin. Feet and ankles started swelling until swelling was up to midriff. This took a few months and a couple day hospital visit to be told my problem was metabolizing protein. WRONG Less than a month later passed out on living room floor unable to breathe.  Thank God my Mom was here and called ambulance. I was on life support in ICU for weeks. Family was told to say goodbye. I wasn't ready yet so 2 mos later I came home. Took me a year to go from unable to walk, towalker wheelchair,  cane. If I was offered a million bucks Iwouldn't take. We are all different. Good luck sorry for the novel.

RVF:  I take Lyrica when I'm feeling really achy with my Fibramylgia, but I don't take one every day...They are like a miracle pill to me when I take just one...lasts for about two days of relief...I would highly recommend that you try this one for yourself...Good luck...

Hi RVF, I have been on pregabalin ( lyrics ) for mainly years for relief of severe back pain, fibromyalgia and GAD. I was prescribed this drug by our hospital pain specialist.. my son was also prescribed lyrica at my. Request for his mental health problems ( taken along side antidepress- ants and other drugs ) to treat his depression and severe social phobia and very marked OCD... neither of us have suffered any side effects. Whatsoever, this medication has had been brilliant for both of us, my son has come on in leaps and bounds and it has helped very much with Both my pain and depression.. if your GP thinks that it may help you I. Would certainly give it a try, I wish you good health and peace of mind. Take care.. x Deirdre

I've been on Lyrica for two months now and its not making a blind bit of difference to my anxiety,a physiciatrist prescribed it for me.A doctor sent me to see the physiciatrist who told me there was three options, lyrica, trazadone and a strong antihistamine(cant remember the name). After speaking to the physiciatrist for twenty mins he told me what i already knew,i had GAD,he also told me there was no need to see him again.I've had anxiety for twenty years,it started when i was playing guitar in a band, everytime i was going to perform i started feeling sick and got a racing heartbeat.i'd been in the band for several years before the symptoms started so cant understand why they hit me so bad.The symptoms then surfaced when i was going out to the pub or going out socialising in general.i was 28 years old and had been going to the pub from being 16 without any problems whatsoever so again cant understand why i got hit so bad.i've resigned myself to the fact that there is little i can do to stop the symptoms...i've refused to let them stop me playing in bands or going out socialising...like many will tell you,at the end of the day they are just feelings and cant really do you any harm, try not to let them grind you down and get out and tackle situations head on.

avoid pregabalin like the plague, at least read what some peope are going through could you cope with it ?  maybe you might be lucky and it suit you,  am adicted after 28 x 25mg caps over 21 days, it killing me slowly,  abdo pain,  feels like guts tied in knots, burps, constpation, urine retention, its like I'm paralysed by it. some people swear by it, not me, worst thing I have ever taken, withdrawing on smallest amount, so many side effects, and withdrawal symptoms,

i cant understand that, specialist told me pregabalin(lyrica) is very similar to gabapentin and must be used regularly to have any effect on pain, just goes to show we are all different i suppose.
