Major anxiety at night weakening me from my sleep with a shock and panic

I have been on fluoxetine for three to four months now and have had a very difficult time with it over that time. I have had every symptom going but pushed through and have been in a much better place for the last coupled of months. Over the last week I have been having trouble when I go to sleep I wake with shock and anxiety, causing me to be light headed, muscle cramped, stomach discomfort........ I am then exhausted but frightened to go dark to sleep. It seems to become a habit now as every time I need sleep I start by being scared of the same thing happening..... I thought after 4 months I would be in a better place with fluoxetine but in many ways it feels like I am back at square one......

For me it has been 10 months and just in the last month have been stable for the most but have some days not so good. Some people get faster results. Some it makes it worse. Im sorry I ever tried the flu. side effects are horrible and I see so many here suffering alot of the same.

I feel the same in the main I have been feeling much better after a real struggle at the start. I am just shocked that anxiety and panic has hit me again. I wish that I had never started flu but feel that I have to keep going as stopping in not a option . I look at how many people get side effects and doctors are still willing to push these drugs out like sweets........

Talked to my doctor yesterday and he suggested 5mg diazipan before bed and to be honest I had the destination sleep in ages. Woke at 5:00am and felt OK for about 10mins then boom the anxiety hit big style, could not even walk, light headed and waves of anxiety one after the other. I have only settled now 3hrs later. The doctors second option was to up my propranolol to a slower release tablet. Think I will try the diazipan for a few more nights and see if it settles. It's just a major disappointment that anxiety has returned 4mts down the line, hope this is just a blip because it's as bad as 4mts ago......
