Manipulation under anaesthetic after ACL surgery

Has anyone had to have this after acl reconstruction? I am struggling with flexion... I managed 110 degrees but then the knee tightened up and I went backwards to 100.

I had the manipulation a week and a half ago and I'm only back to 110 degrees flexion (I had almost perfect extension before the MUA and now it's tightened up and i have to stretch a lot in order to get it).

I have this awful pain in the back of my knee (the opposite side of the knee to where the hamstring tendon was harvested...

I am doing regular Physio and always do my exercises and I just feel so frustrated and let down by my body!!

Any advise greatly welcomed

I didn't think they did MUA when you could bend 110.  Was it only because you reversed to 100?  How long after it reversed to 100 ROM, before they did the MUA?  Where do you live and how old are you?  I ask because of the difference  in expectations with what age group, and limits in some areas for health coverage change protocol.

I had knee surgery Jan 13th, i tore my ACL, MCL and menicus.

i am having trouble w range of motion and i think I want the manipulation done. I am 51 and very athletic. i have been doing Airrosti ( aggressive PT) and I am at 3-4 Extension and 90 flexion and I am VERY DISAPPOINTED.

Im concerned that the manipulation isnt working for you? Are you aggressively doing PT right away? How far out after surgery did you do it?

I'm having same problems. Have you tried Airrosti ? It's intensive deep massage therapy. It helped.

I'm going back next week for manipulation and scoping of the knee. I'm assuming I have lots of scar tissue that needs to be removed.
