menapause

I am 59 yrs old. Been in menapause for several yrs. This is what I am experiencing. Every 2 to 3 weeks I have a spell, which I refer to as my chronic flu symptoms, where I just get very tired one day and start feeling bad. I know what's coming next. By night or next day I have a very achy neck then moves to my back and body. I am down in bed or chair for maybe 3 to 5 days then I pull out of it. I'm good to go back to my active life...energetic....then in couple more weeks same thing happens! When this started about 6 yrs ago I did go on HRT but stopped a few years ago. I went on black cohosh and primerose which seemed to do wonders for 2 yrs but now I'm back to it happening often again. In the last 11/2 yr I've lost 54 lbs and walk between 40-50,000 steps a week. Healthiest I have been in a long time. Can anyone else relate to this?

All fine then period starts flue like symptoms/ back pain as if it's about to collapse have to be careful how I move in case I pull it..😩Extremely tired lethargic ( cannot even be bothered to speak..!!) muddled head.. week later start to get back to normalish.. worry bout planning things as not sure how I will feel.. must say since being on this site has helped with understanding and speaking to other women.. I now know it's not all in my head and I don't feel completely useless.. hope we all feel back to normal soon..xx

    Can totally relate 😞

It happens to me every 21days.. At first it was week before period but now my periods are less frequent and I still get it. Just started HRT and hoping it will ease it off a bit.

Thank you everyone for your feedback! I missed work again today just still feeling so lousy and achy. I am going to shake things up a bit by stopping my black cohosh and primrose and then start Estroven. Natural herbal supplement. Hope it will help in breaking this cycle of every two weeks I am down for anywhere 2 to 5 days! Then repeat in two weeks. Baffling because I feel great in between! I joined Weight Watchers 1 1/2 ago lost 54 lbs reached Lifetime 6 was ago. I walk for excercise. Last week I felt great and walk 50,000 steps by Friday. Next day flat down in bed😩

Keep you all posted. You all do the same, too. Anyone else out there that can relate to our story?

I am feeling like that right now as we speak. I was lying down a few minutes ago where I feel that I'm sure its the flu, now I know what it is! And on top of that, I feel depressed especially how am not working and home alone...all the time. Right now am sad and weak.

I do believe though, that it is partially a mental thing. So I'm trying to think of positive things that would drive me out of the house. I don't really very rarely feel hungry, so I snack on anything that kind of relieves my pain...like milk shakes, KFC and lemonade...This thing is making me crazy!

    I think I need a Shrink???

This makes a lot of sense to me. I've been feeling like I have a virus that keeps coming back. Body aches, hot and clammy, and feel exhausted all the time, plus a very sensitive, upset stomach. My periods had stopped for months but started again this month and quite heavy.
