Hi just before my period my mood is dropping, to the point where I cry all day. I suffer from depression anyway. Can anyone tell me what treatment the dr may suggest. I have heard horror stories about HRT

Hi mags I find that I too want to cry but I stop myself don't know why..everyday meno falling me around and I'm still here though how ever as they say it gets better so we have to be patient I kind of guess HRT has side of effects and that's what I'm scared of when my Dr offer me I only took it for 3 weeks and then I stop it

Hi I have taken HRT for 7 years now ... Quality of life improved so much .. of course not every one will agree as like you said of the horror stories. I did whats best for me as not a good quality of life with the symptoms I had !

Its true hun, that there are horror stories about HRT. But for me its been a life saver. You dont know about something until you have spoken to the dr about it and/or tried it for yourself after making an informed choice. SSRIs that are offered for depression have their own horror stories so be careful which one you choose to help you. SSRIs often make you feel worse before you feel any better if they work for you, there is no guarantee and using them long term can cause permanent side effects. So talk over all available treatments fully with your dr. Best of luck hun. XXX
