    Hi maria,

I had it bad. I think it didn't help that the doctor seemed to not listen.

I kept telling everyone I had nothing to be depressed about and was told well that's the thing with depression, it happens for no reason.

I have only realised how bad it was since starting HRT and it began to lift straight away, I've had it 10 years.

I had been down before, break up of relationship and needed anti depressants for a while but it was a walk in the park compared to what I have had since early peri. I also knew exactly what was making me feel that way, whereas the meno one was for no apparent reason as I was/should have been the happiest I've been in my life.

If not for meno, I would be ok although life is not a bed a roses but we all get through day by day, as long as you know what causing it, it will go soon, how donyou feel now

I'm feeling a lot better, had it and sleep problems for so long I didn't think it would ever go.

I spent my time googling depression and never came across meno depression.

I had only been married two years and was very settled and secure when it began.

I'm lucky he must really love me because it really didn't help with our marriage much and he must have wondered if he made the right decision a few times, but he's still here, I'm sure many would have fled.

I'm just still finding it hard to believe that hormones (or lack of) can cause such chaos.
