Migraine auras..

Does anyone have these since peri/meno, I did a couple of years ago but now they are back and am having quite a few a month. I know lights and possibly caffeine sets them off but my health anxiety has kicked in since someone said they had them and ended up with a brain haemorrhage! Been to doctor who didnt seem that concerned and offered medication!

What type of Medicine did he offer? I was getting them too but I as I also felt a buzzing or a silent migraine on one side of my head, I know that the veins are constricting after working in cardiology I know that aspirin can help alleviate blood flow, so I would take a couple of baby adpirins. I would also take an antihistamine since I read this helps too. Between the two I got rid of it, maybe only lasted a few days, but I understand it can be scary.

Dear Pink cat, sorry to hear you are suffering. I seem to think migraine auto are different than brain haemorage. I think.you should get these properly looked at.

A while ago I had TIA (mini stroke) brain scan confirmef the damage due to bleeding in the brain. Years later haemotologs and neroli had a long debate whether some of my sysmtoms are due to auto migraine or bleeding. So.please get yourself checked again. All the best

Thanks for your reply, sorry to hear you suffered a stroke, yes it is best to get it all checked out, some doctors are reluctant to send you on for tests but I will push for it

    Are you taking HRT?

Migraine with aura increases your risk for ischaemic stroke - I've never heard of it increasing risk for intracranial haemorrhage.

How often do you get migraines? What aura do you get?
