Mild OB - Meds or not?
Posted , 4 users are following.
ok so I seem to jump back on this site every time I have an OB. This is my 3rd OB in 4 months. All have been VERY mild. The 1st one I actually let go away on its own and it took about two weeks. The 2nd one I took the medicine for and it went away by day 3 of the meds and this one I noticed coming on yesterday and I havent taken the medicine yet. I am wondering if its better to just let it take its course instead of jumping on the meds. I hate taking meds if I dont have to. Also, If anyone else doesnt take med for it, how long does it take to go away on its own?

I don't know what triggers mine I haven't had an more outbreaks but I got diagnosed about a month and half ago and I know they will soon come and I have fear of it.
I haven't triggered any by my period , rough sex , or stress yet so I can say I'm thankful because those are the main triggers

After reading everything that you said and everybody else & calling my doctor back about my tests I actually have HSV type 2
And from what my friend said . That's the type she had too. I had it all wrong but I'm slowly but surely figuring it all out
So Since I have type two will I be getting a lot of outbreaks ? Constantly ?

They say Type 2 outbreaks on average ~5 times a year. Since that's an average, there are some who are lucky and rarely outbreak, and others who are unlucky and have upwards of 10 outbreaks per year. Hard to say. First year is supposed to be the worst (and most infectious as a result).

I wonder though, since youve had several now, do you ever right before an OB get a tingling slightly burning sensation right before?
I have felt this, three times since after my first outbreak and i fear its an outbreak coming on. But then nothing seems to happen down there....so far anyways

Its so hard im in a state over it all too but im getting better reading other people's stories especially the positive ones where couples have been together for years and not passed it on.

If you have Type 2 in particular and are outbreaking more often recently (sex can be a trigger, btw), you could be exposing your new partner of four months -- even with condoms, and definitely without -- whom you've hidden your exact status from. Long-term couples who have not transmitted the virus are not at all in the same category as couples in new relationships when it comes to transmission.
Also, that 80% figure is only for Type 1, and predominantly oral Type 1 at that. Genital Type 2 is only about 20% in the US and 10% in most of Europe (incidence of genital Type 1 is way lower). Big difference, and just pointing out the misinformation you seem to have read.

Well I believe in herbal remedies and its not like there going to do any harm if anything they can help in my opinion. How do you know anymore than any one of us we are all different and act different to lots of medications and herbal remedies, whether proven or not. I just started some herbal medicine for cystitis that is amazing better than any antibiotics it works wonders for me after suffering for years.
Passing on the virus in a new relationship as appossed to being a couple for long term makes a difference? No is my answer to that statement I think is a load if nonsense to be polite ! You could pass the virus on within a day or 2 or months or years just depends on the individual exactly the same if you have lots of outbreaks or not having many including the amount of sores. Where I get my information is on sites like this ie other people's experiences and various other health sites . Im a people's person and believe in helping one another with any advice thats helped me. All the statistics ive read on HPV 1/2 in my opinion isn't proven that accurate either.
Best we all stay celibate then is it in your opinion and become OCD !
