Hi everybody I've been a MD sufferer for about 8 years and unfortunately after only having one attack in last couple of years I'm unfortunately going through it again, I've been taking betahistine since last wk after previously been told not to take them all the time the ENT have now said I Should be taking them ALL the time I'm on 8mg tablets two three times a day, does that dosage seem high enough to other sufferers? Also has anybody else on here tried getting a blue badge related to this illness as I've been told it is regarded as a disability in the U.K.

I take 8mg betahistine three times a day all the time plus 10mg amitriptiylne at bedtime to stop nerves tingling. I also take a paracetamol with my first dose of betahistine before getting out of bed & again at teatime. I would be interested to hear if it is a disability in UK I believe it is in U.S.

Hi NeddyO
sorry for my ignorance but does that mean you are taking 48mg three times a day or a total of 48 a day? Just that I've just got back from Dr and have been put on 16mg 3 times a day which obviously totals 48mg a day, thanks for your input

Hi Steve
Thanks for the info so am I to take it the lower dose didn't really work for you? It's just that I've been reading a lot of comments people have posted and it seems that most are on the higher dose rather than just 48mg per day, I will get in touch with ent and see what they suggest then because if the lower dose doesn't really do much it seems pointless taking them
