mirtazapine withdrawal week 2

Posted , 3 users are following.

so i'm 2 days into my second week of coming off mirtazapine, last week i felt a bit rough, flu like which peaked  last monday (4 days ago) i have felt better each day since then, i don't feel all the way done yet though, my legs are achy, sometimes uncomfotably so, i have the itching at the minuet and a few muscle twitches but i can live with that, i don't feel unwell anymore which is the main thing.. my food cravings have gone so i'm not stuffing my face anymore, i'm back to eating normally so although iv'e not lost any weight yet i'm sure i will now iv'e stopped over eating.. i hope the feeling well continues. i'll let you know. wink x

Hi Gill. I unfortunately had to stop mirtazapine it didnt help me infact it made me worse. I tapered off it in 2 weeks after being on it just over 6 weeks.. ..When can I expect the withdrawal to start and peak? X

to be honest with you alison there is no set time or even withdrawal for that matter, everyones different, if you were only on it for 6 weeks you might not get any at all.. i was on it for 6 months and have hardly had any. but similar to you mirt made me worse too, far too many side effects to get on with so got rid of it.i tapered over 3 weeks from 30mg to nothing and although i felt a bit rubbish i haven't suffered anything like some of the horror story's iv'e read on here. the only advice i can really give is to just pay attention your body, if you feel a bit rough then just stay home, relax and ride it out, treat it like you have the flu or something. but try not to dwell on it too much. i hope you have an easy ride, take care.x
