Besides asking us - I didn't have any side-effects - is to ask your pharmacist because your GP is not a specialist in the effects of drugs. He looks online to see what the effects of drugs and combinations etc. It is the job of pharmacists to know these things. When you get your prescription the pharm might occasionally phone the GP to query the prescription - that is the job of the pharmacist.

The drug should be out if your system approx. 10 days.

Is it a good idea to stop your antidepressants like this. Thud will set your body into chaos.

Can you try and talk to your GP?

Everyone is different in that it takes some people longer to clear their body but you are over the worst of it now. X

    Hi J

i was told by a doctor to go cold turkey and it took 10 days to hit me with withdrawals. It was very bad and I waited it out for 20 days and couldn't take it anymore so went back on the evil drug.

now I am going much slower off this med.

i can't tell you how long it will last but unlike other AD it seems to hang around a while.

paxil is noted for a terrible withdrawal. In 1995 my GP put me on this because of anxiety. I didn't ask for anything. I took it for about a year, it caused sleep walking so I went off it. People say paxil withdrawal is the worst. Afraid not I think this mirt is the worst. Not trying to talk you into anything. But yes the timing is right for withdrawals as it usually hits one week to 10 days after the last pill.

a very slow earn might be your best bet. Get back with your doctor. ( make sure you have a doctor that understands AD withdrawal. Google CITA. I believe they have a home number for the UK, for people trying to discontinue.

    good luck!

Ps...from all I have read usual withdrawals hit within a couple days for other drugs. Remeron extends 10 days... I mean mirtazapine.

jeanette: Everything you said seems to be true by what other users have said. I don’t have bad side effects and take 45 mg. I found out on the web suggesting 10% a month!: mentalhealthdaily  They have a loooooong list if of effects if you quit cold turkey. Interesting read.

You shouldnt of cold turkey, always graduate it, so you should of taken 15 for a week, it could last for a few more days maybe a week but I shouldnt think longer than that, tablets do take awhile to come out your system unfortunely, hope you are feeling better soon
