Mono need help

Hi so In June I woke up one morning feeling very weak. I thought I needed to eat something but when I ate breakfast I still felt weird. I ended up having my first panic attack. My entire summer was filled with ER visits for weakness, low energy, fatigue, dizziness, off balance feeling, and generally feeling unwell. It turns out I have mono (diagnosed a week ago). I don't know what to do. Just looking for others' stories and well and recovery process. It's my 3rd month and I just feel so helpless. ?? Thanks guys ! Blessing to all

Hi Ashley,
I'm guessing that could be very possible that high blood pressure could arise from mono, but that can be a very temporary thing I really hope and believe - worry and stress definitely contribute so that makes sense, I know it can change because my blood pressure was borderline high before a few years ago but has since returned to normal after a few changes with eating habits.

Hey Ashley. I think mono can definitely screw up your blood pressure. I have the opposite problem- mine has been very low. Which comes with it's own problems.
I believe it'll return to normal once my body stops fighting this virus so hard. And I think yours will too.

You're welcome Ashley, just remember take things one day at a time can't look too far ahead with this thing, coping with the present is all we can do with it - hang in there and remember you WILL get better, 100% better - I fully believe that, trusting in God with that.

It was 11 months before I started feeling better, hope you are feeling better soon.

it was 11 months for me too but really at 12 months was a massive difference...I still feel weak at times and have slight symptoms sometimes but far better than previous year. I am so utterly fed up. Fed up of not having much resilience, I just want to be my normal self.....just time xx

Hi Christy,
It is good to see a post from you, I know you've been through a hellish time with the virus just sorry to hear things are still such a struggle. As Mono and Christine says you are definitely coming into the zone where recovery often takes place, for me it was about 10 months before I seen a real turning point and I was so weary by then it was unreal. I know you must be feeling that way but just want to remind you there is hope and there is recovery still for you - I truly believe that. Hang in there and thinking of you.

Your note could have been written by me! It takes a longer time to recover from mono than the doctors would have you believe. I have been mostly down since Jan. Every time I get back to my regular schedule, then the sore throat, fatigue and general unwellness washes back over me. Just know you will recover! You will start having normal days soon, then backtrack, then more normal days. Be kind to yourself. Say no when you are tired- this has been the hard part for me. I found acupuncture to be a godsend and Epsom salt baths seem to really help. You will get through this.
