Mood swings or depression?

Posted , 5 users are following.

Ladies, some days i'm ok and then other days i wake up to an instant disturbed, feeling of doom. Like someone flipped a switch. I bawl for no reason only to be better a few hours later or the next day. I notice this is worse for me when my period ends up until ovulation (when I ovulate).

Some cycles it doesn't happen at all, some cycles it's just a day or two and other cycles it last a week or so.

If it was depression would it be this hit and miss? I'm chalking it up to hormone swings as it fluctuates so much with my cycle.

Any of you experience this?

Omg yes I’m dealing with this TODAY actually lol.  And go figure- today is first day of period.

I went to bed in a fine mood last night- and woke up like a moody melancholy little teenager lol.

Literally drove around after finishing my errands for like an hour listening to sad music that made me think of my ex!! ON PURPOSE mind you! Lol

I’m laughing because I know it’s a TOTAL hormone takeover in my own dang head lol. I’m in a new relationship with a wonderful man and for two days have been all “sad” and crap. It’s so stupid.

But absolutely I feel you there! It’s like some months it happens and others not at all.

The only good thing about it was I listened to some great music today LOL

Hi Lisa, yes it sounds like mood swings to me as it doesn't stay a long time. I battle depression every day, however vI have some easy ways of cheering myself up. I do yoga, walking, mindfulness training and meditation. All of those really help me. Take care, Debi

Does yours get worse when getting out of bed? Yesterday I had a Better day. No weepiness, mood swings or depression. Then, this morning i was fine while sitting in bed. I get up and start moving around and just the act of getting my body moving causing a gush of weepiness and other feelings. I hate it. Sometimes it lifts after a few hours...Sometimes it comes and goes all day. Last 2 cycles I had very little weepiness...Then bam...this cycle is horrible. sad

Dear Lisa, it sounds like your hormones are unbalanced. Maybe ask your doctor if taking estrogen therapy would help. Estrace is plant based so there is no danger or cardiac risk. Take care! Debi
