Hello everyone...Today I feel so ill, throbbing from head to foot. I am certain the pain is worse than ever. And I have a strange pain in my left eye,its very itchy and painful.. The doctor does not want to help me, refused to give me any more pain relief. Tell you what, I can't wait to move home in 6 weeks and hopefully get a decent doctor that will LISTEN to me..

You def need an understanding doctor.  How much pain relief are you already on though because must admit my doctor doesn't want me to increase mine and I agree with him it would make me Soo tired and I'm bad enough already.

      Hi Kathleen

Thanks for your reply, I am on Oramorph 2x5mil 4 times a day. But I just swig it out of the bottle. It does take the edge off for a short time, and I also take Paracetamol as well. Just need an understanding doctor or someone who will isten..Regards Anne..

Need a little more info. Bear with me as others will end up asking the same questions.

Do you have other conditions besides fibro?

What meds are you taking now?

    Any supplements?

Are you doing anything to manage your stress?

Hello, and thanks for your reply. I am on Oramorph and Paracetamol. The doc will not give me anything else, they do take the edge off a little. I do have an underactive thyroid diagnosed with that 35 yrs ago. I don't take any suppliments as you have to be careful when on Thyroxine.

No, I don't do anything for stress. What can I do?

Feeling a little less pain today, probably because I overdosaed on Oramorph yesterday..Regards  anne..

Well, those are the standard meds for fibro.

I can't tell you how much taking control of your stress is. Most of the time, our brains get stressed without our knowledge or approval.

Stress is a holy bi*@h to control. I started searching online and found what works for me. I've had success with an online guided meditation, herbs & teas and doing some yoga like stretching. Biggest thing is frame of mind. There is the Gupta program & you get a sample for free that I am going to try as well but there are some wonderful articles out there too

Here is how I talk now...

I CHOSE to research stress because I WILL NOT ALLOW this to keep happening. I paid attention to my thought patterns and TOOK CONTROL of my thoughts. I get stronger every day. I am not a victim. I am in control of my body and my life because I CONTROL how I respond to my environment.

Obviously we don't control every biological process with our minds, but we absolutely DO have control over a lot more than you'd imagine.

    Hello Anne, (namesake),

So sorry to hear of your circumstances. My doctor also refused more pain relief. I agree with what I have read on this site. So how much do tohave to go through to get some help. I suspect htat there is not much else out there that does not have horrible side effects. I have settled for that at the moment.

    Take care, Anne x

    Hello Anne,

Just remembered what else I wanted to say, have you considered CBT? My doctor and rheumotologist have both suggested this, so it might be another route to try/ Good luck and take care

      Hi Anne

They did sugest CBT to me, but I am unable to walk into a room full of people. I feel a little less pain today probably because I have had too much Oramorph. Thanks for your replies..Anne..

I hope you can get a better doctor, I know in the states they have made my drug a narcotic now so you have to sign a pain contract and make sure you only get it from him or her or else you are in major trouble. Then you will have trouble finding a dr. I couldn't go to church this am because I was awake all night with headache pain, back pain and pain under the area where the hernia surgery was done when this all happpened. My OBGYN agrees with me and I think the pain specialist after seeing the results the other day thinks like me nerve entrapment in the mesh or a major nerve was touched or I was positioned wrong during surgery. But as we know trauma can induce all of this Fibro stuff. I hope you find one and they will listen! Never heard of the pain in the eye and itchy. I have had sharp pains and also have had dry eyes. Good Luck Anne199
