mri normal but still symptoms 6 months later

in my earlier post I explained how my husband had injured his neck/upper back doing a forward roll at gymnastics.  Although initially he had no pain within a couple of weeks he had pain in the upper joints, pins and needles and numbness.  He had an xray at our local casualty which was clear and his gp said he had pulled a muscle and prescribed anti inflammatories and pain killers.  His symptoms have persisted and it is now 6 months on.... needless to say his day to day life has altered and having been very energetic, cycling etc he now does his days work and often comes home and goes to bed.  His sleep has been affected and he suffers from a constant tightness between the shoulderblades.  He feels that this is going to affect his life long term.  He has been attending a chiropracter for about 5 months who eventually referred him to a private clinic for an MRi,  Thankfully this came back clear (no disc degeneration, spinal compression) for which we are grateful but he now feels no one really knows what is wrong with him so how do they fix it?? he is a lorry driver but doesnt spend long distances behind the wheel as he is in and out of the lorry at lot doing short deliveries.  He really cant see any hope for the future - we are now waiting for an NHS appt to see an osteopath and he is wondering if he starts to attend physio again how will they know what area to concentrate on as no one knows where the injury is??? could muscle damage take over 6 months to heal -  why hasnt he had much improvement??? please let me know if you have been in a similar situation.  We have a holiday booked in a few weeks time mainly for the childrens benefit but neither him nor I can conjure up much enthusiasm for it!!!!

Have you tried PT.. THEY are wonderful on finding pain and treating it with carefully teaching techniques to strengthen and help. Ask UR doc for a script for Physio therapy. It has helped my arthritis back issues..
