Had numbness in my left arm and leg a few weeks back. My arm seems to been fine but now I have weakness in my left leg! Got back anxiety when the numbness first happened and have been having issues sleeping. Of course, did what I shouldn't have done and consult Google on leg weakness and numbness and MS popped up everywhere. Now, the anxiety is even worse! Anyone else experience these symptoms before and what was there prognosis?

Yes Robert millions of people have had your exact same symptoms from on managed anxiety. I've had that symptom numerous times throughout the years when my anxiety would peak. When I first got that symptom I also had about six others all at the same time. I thought for sure I had MS. Well it turns out I did not. I was surprised to find out that anxiety can create so many different symptoms.
please don't Google your symptoms. You're going to worry yourself for no reason. You see, you can take just about any symptom and it can be found on just about any condition. For example somebody with chest pain may think they are having a heart attack when chest pain can also be caused by indigestion, anxiety, gallbladder problems, back problems etc.
Google is not going to be specific to your individual situation it's just a very very broad general statement about the conditions you can find symptoms in.
So I've had your symptoms plus many more and I am now in my 50s and still alive. Lol Nothing bad ever happened.
I had to learn how to manage my anxiety in order to get rid of the symptoms. If you sit around and think about the symptoms and Google things, everything will get worse! You are giving power to the anxiety and symptoms and you were choosing to let them control you. But you don't have to.
Now when I get a symptom I basically ignore it and it goes away.
you have to take the attitude of "this is OK. I can handle this. It will go away eventually." That you are not giving it power over you.
Another thing that helped me gain control is listening to audio's on YouTube for anxiety. They completely relax my mind, body and symptoms. The symptoms diminish greatly or go away altogether. They teach you how to separate anxiety from yourself and there are many to choose from. One that would be good for you is called "detachment from overthinking" listen carefully and use earbuds if you have them. Find onesyou like and listen as often as possible.
things that relax your mind such as taking a walk in nature, listening to relaxing music, etc. stay active and social. Don't take life too seriously like I did. Laugh and smile.
You are going to be just fine !! I'm living proof that those symptoms don't hurt!
remember that any symptoms caused by anxiety cannot hurt you! They feel weird and scary but that's all they can do. Be a fighter for yourself because if I can do this so can you! If you're really struggling, speak with a counselor who can help.
There is a book called mindfulness that teaches you everything you need to know to regain you're a peace of mind. This is taught all over the world in many people on this site are reading it. It teaches you how to deal with anxiety, depression, negative thoughts, which all Lead to the symptoms. It's not the symptoms that are the problem it's that many people don't know how to manage their anxiety which causes the symptoms.
take care and let us know how you're doing! ??????😁

Honestly, In the beginning, I had leg weakness on and off for months. But I knew it was related to stress and anxiety so I didn't worry about it. I had the other symptoms OF Anxiety going on at the same time.
even to this day if I get really stressed out I can get some mild weakness in my legs. Anxiety and stress is just very hard on the body and it does cause muscle weakness sometimes.
The MRI test is the one that will rule out MS. I did not get that But since my symptoms started in my 20s and Im now in my 50s, I never got MS.
They don't allow us to include names of authors on this site but I can tell you that the mindfulness book is white with a ball of colored string on the cover. You can find it in most bookstores and also online at Amazon. I do hope you feel better soon. Keep in mind how powerful anxiety and it's symptoms can be. ??

Had another appointment with another doctor today. He also says I don't have MS and has recommended visiting a pysch. Hopefully that will help, only time will tell.
