Muscle pains but not pmr. What could it be?

Posted , 3 users are following.

Hi everyone!

I am a young mother of 4. I had pmr symtoms, like muscle pain in my lower back, arms and legs. My doctor has ruled out pmr, as steroids didn't help. My blood test showed a sign of inflammation.

Any of you had something similar or know what it could be?

Hoping to hear from you

How long have you been suffering?

I would ask to be referred to a rheumatologist just so they can run more test and cover everything,

About 18monthd ago I started having swelling of the joints, stiffness, muscle pain, fatigue and just a whole bust of symptoms that really got me down, after thorough tests everything came back fine (AS was the main thing they were testing for) it was very odd and frustrating but after about 10months it settled down and docs said it was most likely a virus, very scary and frustrating but also odd that it settled.

I hope you find answers and pray it a virus that will pass, good luck😊

As I said to mirella60121 ask doc to check vitamin d3 it causes a lot of problems if you are deficient but always check with doc before taking supplements, good luck😊

I went through similar process. About 2 years ago i pretty much woke up one day and suffered severe muscle pain mainly in my arms and legs. I did feel my neck too but the body ache was horrendous. After a few weeks they did some blood work and my cpr amd esr were really high (inflammation markers). I was referred to a rheumatologist who was not able to give me a proper diagnosis. I went on 30mg steroid which gave some relief but not total. After So mamy tests cant even list them all, that took several months .so it was 6 months in and Still no proper diagnosis. He was convinced it to be ra even though i have no ana markers and no joint pain. I went down slowly off the meds to about 12mg after 1 year and was taking methotrexate too. My liver tests were not good. Rising up continuously. Then into the second year went off methotrexate and now about 3 months ago started a biological agent injection once a month. It has made little impact on my symptons only the esr and cpr have come down finally. I am on 5 mg prednisone can't get below that. Still have severe pain. So in other words 2 years in still no proper diagnosis. Still in pain and discomfort. Lack of sleep have 3 daughters and in my 40s. Suffer headaches regularly have gained so much weight over last couple years which hasnt helped. Feel down most of the time. Its terrible but i just try to battle on

Hope this helps as ur not alone. This forum has helped me a lot. Keep ur chin up.

Ah it seems you been through a rough time I'm feel for you, I just wanted to add that my vitamin d3 levels were 19 (very low) so after about 3 months my muscle aches settled down, just a thought but check with your doctor first tho before taking any supplements but read up on d3 deficiency the side effects are quite an eye opener, good luck with your treatment I hope you get sorted soon 😊
