My 20 year old son has ED. What type of doctor should I take him to to have him evaluated?

A urology appointment would be my first ask. They do a full medical checking for any obvious genital abnormalities. They will also do a full blood test to check testosterone levels.

I had ed at 29 but I didn't follow it up with my GP until I turned 40. Too my shock I was diagnosed with Primary Hypogonadism and now I'm on testosterone replacement therapy. I hope this answer helps.

As Leon said, this is a urologist's speciality.  A GP would be able to measure blood pressure and organise blood tests though, so if it were my son, I'd probably see a GP first.

ED is very unusual at that age though.  Does he have erections at all (either by masturbating or spontaneously, possibly during the night), and if so, how long do they last?

These articles may be useful, though the second is written for doctors:
