My mom isn't an alcoholic, as she doesn't drink every day. She'll have a few beers every now and then. Here's what happened:
Mom and I were hanging out with a couple friends, and they were all drinking (except me). Mom was slamming beer after beer (she had about 7 if my memory serves me correctly). After she was done, she took a HUGE hit of marijuana. She literally smoked the entire bowl in one hit. Well, everything seemed fine until our friend left to go to the store, so it was just me, my mom, and our other friend. We were talking and all of a sudden, I look over and mom was nodding out. I called out her name and then she started to hyperventilate. Her head went back and she stopped breathing immediately after she stopped hyperventilating. We called 911 and the paramedics arrived. She lost consciousness twice while they were there. They tried to see if she could stand but one of the paramedics had to hold onto her or else she would have fallen. They said her blood sugar was low and her heart rate was 40. They told us at the hospital that she had a block in the left side of her heart (the electric pulses are blocked so her heart beats slower that normal). I strongly believe that the alcohol mixed with marijuana caused this, as the same thing happened last month.
Which leads me to my question: is her heart problem and the mixing of alcohol and marijuana related?
