My OB said I had vaginal chafing, BUT

I’m not sure? Obviously, she’s a trained professional, but I’m not sure that’s the problem? 

What initially looked like a small cut from shaving, appeared to be chafing, according to her. 

Just prior to my period (and during) pain on my left side (Labia) increased. As my period went away, the pain lessened ( still a bit of pain now) too. 

I’m not sure what’s going on? Anyone have a similar experience?
