Please don't say your not going to have it done just think all the problems your having now will end. I'm waiting for the date to come through for my total abdomenal hysterectomy I am scared but once I have recovered I will have my life back . I hope all goes well for you and I'm sure it will it is a very scary time in our life but just think how great it will be when it's all done. Chin up and positive thoughts.

    Sending hugs.

Hi, I'm 5 weeks post abdominal hysterectomy for fibroids today,....I'm not going to lie to you the first couple of weeks post op are a bit rough but it's just a case of having to grin and bear it.....it does get better but you do have to be prepared to be patient and recognise that you do become incapacitated for a while......you will find thissitevery helpful...lots of good advice and support from people who are having siimilar experiences......this is a major operation and your bound to be anxious......I've worked for the NHS fo 26 years and knew exactly what was happening.......I was still very nervous though.

think how much better you will feel in 6 months time!!

      Hi Bridy

I'm currently 4 weeks post op (TAH). Just wondering if you still have a sensitive and sore tummy? I'm still in a bit of discomfort, have swelling above my incision and while it is not painful to pee it is a little uncomfortable. Just curious to see if all these things are 'normal' at this point? Also, people talk about exercising at this point and I cannot take a full stride without wincing. I would welcome your reply.

      Thanks Bridy. 😊

Hi love, yes my skin still feels very sore and sensitive to touch particularly early evening.....I've only just started wearing my normal underwear again and some days I revert back to big pants.....today was the first day I've walked very far, I'm certainly not even 25% of normal mobility!! I I keep thinking I just be doing more though!! I'm not the most patient of people....I'm used to working full time so I think I'm pushing myself a bit.....I'm sure I will suffer tomorrow......you sound very simiilar to myself.........I'm still a bit up and down though.....I still get a bit weepy for no reason!!!

Hi. I was exactly like you before my investigative op right up to the morning it was going thru my head to cancel. I'd never had any type of surgery and didn't know what to expect and hadn't even thought about forums. I sat like a nervous mouse waiting for my turn to come in the unit. Every possibility of what was going to go wrong went thru my mind so I know how you feel. Went in for an aesthetic and next thing you know its all over. OK its sore but you are pumped with pain killers so I promise not agony. Feels strange for a while and you are just sleepy then once an aesthetic wears off you do feel like yourself again but again sore and you Dont realise how much you use your stomach muscles to move until you can't. I'm waiting for my full hysterectomy inc ovaries now and to say I'm not nervous again would be a lie but its so much better than my imagination of it beforehand. When's your op date? It will be ok. Imagine not having probs you have now xxxx

    Hi Jardine

What date is your op?  I'm in on Good Friday.  I know it is a shock and all your emotions are playing havoc with your brain, but the sooner it is done the sooner you are on the road to recovery.  It must be very uncomfortable for you having the fibroid pressing on your bladder.  I have everything pressing down on my bladder and it is extremely uncomfortable.  So just think how much better your quality of life will be after the op.

Hang on in there and remember we are all here for you if you want to let off steam or just say hello.

    Love

    Jacqui lol
