Nausea after bowel movement.

Hi everyone. Another question I was in hospital 8 weeks ago with diverticulitis. Slow recovery, still have off days. But much better. My question this time is sometimes I feel very nauseasated just before and after a bowel movement. I can feel sick for ages afterwards. This doesn't happen every time. Was fine this morning, but this afternoon it happened . Should this still, happen after 8 weeks? Does anyone else have this problem?

Also when this happens my bladder feels weird. Almost as though I have a bladder infection but I don't. It's horrible. I feel uncomfortable in that whole area and nauseated too. Horrible. Thank you for replying .

When my bowels are off it always affects my bladder too .

I don't often feel sick with it unless I've got a DD flair or a bladder infection .

Linda do you think I should still be feeling these types of symptoms after 8 weeks? . I don't feel like it all the time but when I do I feel lousy .

I feel as if I have a bladder infection too!  In fact the Dr thought I had when I went at Christmas!  The lower part of my groin feels really tender and even hurts to sit down. sad

Yes it really feels like it. I get them a lot.but it isn't.  I had urine tested  last week. It's defo the diverticulitis. 8 weeks along and I still feel lousy on and off , and the bladder  discomfort and nausea after some bowel movements is just miserable. This really is an ongoing miserable experience.  Thanks for replying. This forum has been great .

      Hi

8 weeks does seem a long time . I would see your doctor about

The feeling sick so much . It is possible to have a UTI and it not show up !

Do you take a probiotic ? I find they help with my stomach .

      Hope you feel better soon.

Thanks Linda. I take a probiotic, thought I was doing everything right. I think I'm getting it back. I don't see my GI until, late February. I wish it was sooner. My local doc is great but it's hard to get in to see him atm, and it's a holiday here in Australia on Friday. It's such a complicated thing. I might be having a setback, it's hard to tell.ill soon know if I keep feeling like I did yesterday.

Also, does when you get the frequent motions back is it a sign of the diver coming back ?  Very anxious person here as you may have noticed lol

Don't worry every time I get it I become anxious!  It really is a horrible thing.

The only thing I say to myself is that I'm lucky because my young granddaughter has crohns which is so much worse and she is so young to suffer.  sad

Oh poor thing crohns  is a cruel disease. I do sympathise with her, and you are right , it could be worse for us.

Thank you Linda. One of the things  I think is not helping me at all( think I mentioned it before. ) is added fibre, any kind, the doctors say to take it but my bowel doesn't like it. Too harsh. So no Metamucil, benefibre or anything, I will just have to eat food with gentle fibre. I'll let you know how I go at docs . Keep well.
