Gastritis is tough, you really have to watch what you eat. Warm spring water with 1/2 lemon squeezed in, drink in the morning before you eat. This helps neutralize your stomach. Eat foods which are high alkaline, stay away from acidic foods. You can google the list. Try and stay off NSAIDS. Coffee, black tea, chocolate, alcohol - are a no! PPI's are bad, you can have rebound acid on those.

I took advil on an empty stomach and I think that totally did me in, but I also was going thru a period where i was hyper sensitive to all meds, even tylenol.

    hi there..

im hearing celery juice is good but ive suffered with this for a while...days are worse than others. i take a probiotic tablet each morning and it has helped.

Hang tight as you are not alone. for me its the one thing i have really struggled with but i know it will come to an end as it has eased a good bit. i also got ibs through this also..oh the joys..

    hope you feel better soon...

I have such a hard time with celery juice. I've tried juicing in the mornings but boy does it send me running to the bathroom. It's like a colonoscopy cleanse, I cut back on the amount but still had that effect. I'm going to try and do cucumber juice for awhile to see if that's better. If you can tolerate straight celery juice (must be juiced or use a blender and then strain it) it's supposed to be a great cure all for so many things.

Im on my 7th year with "functional gastritis ". low FODMAP diet has helped and also simithicon pills. can get at any pharmacy. i also chew fennel seeds, eat ginger anything or drink ginger, chamomile, or pepermint tea.

Yes, I would drink lots of ginger and chamomile tea too. It helps.

I did do the slippery elm lozenges as well.

I really feel for you because I had this, i just presumed it was the gastitis causing the nausea and lack of appetite as i know they are symptoms, i cant remember if i took anything for the nausea or not, but im sure there are medications that can curb the nausea available x

I think I have something similar as well. Is gastritis a perimenopausal thing? I have been noticing a pain in my upper left abdomen. Seems worse with coffee and fatty foods. I might try the lemon water in the am but I am going to terribly miss my coffee 😦.
