I have suffered for around a year with problems down below.
I am 17 and
My symptoms include:
Constant discharge of different kinds
Smell and odours constantly and can be smelt through clothes
I never really get itchy as for a while thought it may be a yeast infection.
I've tried many things and been to the doctors christmas of 2016 I had a swab and came back as nothing but I knew there was something wrong and went back. My doctor said there were traces of bv in the swab and put me on a 5 day course of metronidazole around a month ago I saw very slight improvements but almost instantly after, it was straight back to how it was.
I'm newly in a relationship and it is putting a massive strain on me as it is extremely embarrassing and it's been going on for so long now.
I'm willing to try anything and have advise from anyone, should I return back to my doctor is there anything else they can do??

I think you should return to the doctor and the doctor will usually prescribe you with another round of metronidazole or clindamycin and the doctor will probably prescribe vaginal suppositories.
Maybe you can try taking probiotic as well to get enough lactobacili bacteria to help fight off the bad bacteria. Hopefully it helps

Also -- can use oil of oregano ORALLY daily for 2 weeks
apple cider vinegar pills daily as recommended but most importantly is a probiotic .. there are many to choose an honestly dealing with this for over a year and multiple returns of exactly what u are going through its worth the money an a pharmasist or natural products will help u more than a doctor

I swear by this. I suffered for so long with bv AND yeast. Buy a douche and 100% tea tree oil. Pour a little bit of tea tree oil in the douch, and fill the rest with water. Use it, then fill douch half with plain water, and use it. Bam you're done! Do this twice a day and until symotoms are gone. It works! TRUST ME, ITS A MIRACLE OIL! Its good for bacteria and fungus.
PLEASE TRY THIS, ITS AMAZING

Hi molly,
I suffered with bv on and off since I was 13, ( before I was even sexually active) so I know how frustrating it can be. Now I can say for the first time in years that I am 6 months bv free. Every woman is different so treatment results vary but what helped me was a course of antibiotics taken with probiotics ( I used clinicians flora restore) I honestly couldn't praise that stuff any more it is a life saver. Bear in mind that if you are going to take probiotics it takes at least 2 months to restore the flora so don't expect instant results and don't get discouraged if you feel like it's coming back. Just keep taking them and double up the dose if you have to. Another change I made was avoiding tampons, I now only use pads. This is because Tampons are full of chemicals that disturb the natural vaginal flora and also is a good breeding ground for harmful bacteria to grow. Just remember that all bodies are different so there might be another probiotic out there that suits you better. Go to your nearest health store and try out some of the woman's probiotics there. ( I do recommend the clinicians flora restore though it was a life saver!!!) Good luck I hope you can overcome this embaressing problem! It feels amazing to be able to walk past people and not worry if they can smell me anymore.
