has any one out there been left permanently with a limp due to TKR.?

    Yes i have.i had tkr july last year and have been left with nerve damage so i limp when i walk (which isnt far)and cant stand for long with it either.x

    Yes I have frequently heard of this. My PT and orthopedic surgeon were very adamant about me getting the proper form of my stride going correctly before focusing on distance and time. Pay attention to how you are walking, making sure you do the correct heel-to-toe foot plant and follow through. This will play a huge role in preventing a limp. After you get the proper mechanics of your stride down then it is time to focus on distance. If you are not walking correctly it doesn't matter how far you can go.

    I agree with dee about getting the stride of your walk correct but also if you are already doing this get the leg measured by a professional as in my case I found out that the tkr leg was now longer and was prescribed heel inserts in my shoes which has made a difference.
