Need some feedback on urinating problems

Four months in after BPH and when im finished urinating most of the time I think I feel all the bladder is empteed. Then it slowley builds up 15 to half hour later or more. Not I have to go right now pee but bothersome I know its a little bit there pee.Or if I drink to fast a glass of watter or more it strikes fast and repeats allmost as fast pee.So my average if I spread out the water and have to go is around 1 hour and a half or 2 hours with small buildups.Night time when im on my back creates more urine and is hard to sleep. Any one out there with this problem and if so what to do as im taking flomax .

You might want to start recording how much you void each time. That will give you an indication of whether or not you are fully emptying your bladder. I ended up with an enlarged bladder, and I was retaining alot even though I was urinating frequently. However, it was only a few ounces at a time. I was on Flomax for a year. It helped for awhile, and then it didn't.

You could try CIC . There is lots about it here and elsewhere on the net. I had the same symptoms and had a permanently stretched bladder and now when I catheterise my bladder is completely empty and I can go 6 to 8 hrs between urinating. It is easy for some but others find it difficult but could be worth a try. Coloplast will send samples for you to try and have a great website to teach you what to do.

I agree with pluff and go further.

Make a log for a week:

    What you drink

    When you drink

    How soon afterwards you pee

    How much do you pee

Whether you feel like your bladder is still not emptied AFTER you peed

    When you pee again

When you or if you feel your bladder is empty

    REPEAT FROM THE TOP

Do this for a week and if there still is a problem, when you next see the urologist he will have an excellent history and if he's competent, will offer the right treatment without subjecting you to unnecessary tests.

You might have urinary retention. The safest way to check is to ask your doctor for a bladder scan. It will tell you if you have it, and how much. You can decide to do after that .
