Nerve pains in hands and big toes... Anyone else?

Posted , 2 users are following.

Just under a years ago I started having severe nerve pains in my hands and feet. Mostly in the areas around my little fingers and my big toes. They seem to move from one place to another but not really in two places at the same time. I also get strong pins and needles at night sometimes.

I am on nerve pain medication that masks a little of the pain but leaves me a very bleary eyed most of the time.

My background is that I had bowel cancer 5 years ago but luckily it was stage one and they think I'm cancer free. I had to have an illeostomy.

I've had a vitamin B12 check, MS checks, a CT scan on the top of my spine, nerve conductivity checks and I'm awaiting blood sugar checks.

No luck in fing a cause so far.

Anyone else got similar symtoms?

    Hello,

    Thanks for your reply.

Really sorry to hear that you've also got pain problems.

I'm determined to find out the cause and some sort of remedy.

I've now had my recent bloods back and it's not diabetes either.

For some reason my symtoms are much better at night. Almost gone except for bad pins and needles sometimes in my hands and feet.

Do your pains move around leaving the last area when they go to the next?

Mine seem to move from one area to another but don't overlap. It can hurt in my left hand for one minute and then suddenly stop .. and instantly start in my right foot and then 15 seconds later move back to my left hand... Weird. I can't find any reference to this sort of pain movement online.

Aside from that ... I can't find an exact name to put to my symptoms. http://www.ninds.nih.gov is a good site but I still can't find a name to put to it.

You think the lower back pain are linked to the cause then?
