i have been posting on here for 9 months , have been back and forth to my gp , and i feel so depressed and anxious , crying so sad so low and it just isnt getting any better , i feel so fearfull and think of just ending it all dont want to feel like this anymore i am currently on citalopram but have tried most ssri and they dont seem to have any effects , i get out walk go swimming do activities that distract my mind but i feel so awfull , i go to work and im like a zombie living in fear , just live for bed time when i can close my eyes and it all goes away , i dont smoke or drink and live a clean life , never taken any drugs , i keep telling myself that give it time and it will get better but nothing changes i am constantly stuck in this deep dark hole , and im so tired , i wake in the morning and the anxiety is crippling and the worry , then by lunch time i am crippled with the depression day after day , have tried to get on with life and accepting the anxiety and depression and tried not to fear it , made myself do things even when i have been at my worse but no let up , i just cant seem to make any headway no matter what i do , , the strange thing is that the other day i found myself smiling and laughing for 1 hour out the blue , and then 3 hours later i was having thoughts of not wanting to be here which ended in me crying my eyes out, i think it was the first time i had smiled and laughed in 2 years , how can that be that i can feel like that for just 1 hour in 2 years and the plummet into severe depression again , any advice would be so helpfull

I would be really interested to hear how you get on with the new meds. As I have had so many problems with my stomach I had a colonscopy this morning. All was fine so it is down to the depression. The consultant has asked my gp to send an urgent referral for me to see psychiatrist as he was of the few that my depression was not being managed properly as the citalopram does not appear to be working. Please let me know how you get on Terry.
Wishing you a swift resolution and really hope your new meds work swiftly with no side effects at all.
Warmest wishes
Lorraine xx

But once the depression gets overcome/treated, the stomach will get back to normal. At least from my experience.

Thank you so much your post is just what I needed today. I hope my depression starts lifting soon. Not only is eating hard I am still finding hard to spend time with my family. Unable to work and still unable to go anywhere other than a walk round the block! Four months and not there yet. Your post lifted my view especially the bit... when you overcome depression. Made me feel like there is hope for me.
Thank you so much

So pleased for you and pray you keep getting better. Think I will ask doc for the same thing as cit is not doing that much for me.
Please keep me posted and I'm delighted you have had a better day.
Warmest wishes and positive thoughts sending to you

Hopefully your tiredness and dry mouth go away quickly. I think you are right in respect of those symptoms being side effects to your new meds.
I'm doing a bit better now my dose has increased. Still not eating that much but depression feels like it's easing up a bit. Now need energy levels to improve to enable me to get on with life.
It sounds like we are getting there slowly but surely!
Wish you continued recovery and look forward to an update on your progress.
God bless

So sorry to hear you are having such a dreadful time. Apparently it takes quite a while for citalopram to completely leave your body. From what you are saying your symptoms do sound like withdrawal. I'm doing a bit better but appetite and energy still poor.
We will get there Terry and I really hope your withdrawal from cit happens quickly and your horrible symptoms alleviated.
I will contact you in a couple of days time to see how your doing.
Wishing you a swift recovery
Loads of blessings to you
