Just had my 2nd biopsy. Went from

a 3+3 Gleason to 3+4. Decide to continue monitoring it with PSA quarterly testing and then a biopsy again in 14-16 months. I am 69 ---am I doing the right thing? Any feedback appreciated. Found it in 2/12 sections.

    Hey Mike

Glad you are doing okay for now. 2 out of 12 is not bad. Put off surgery has long as you can. Most cancers are slow growing. You can have 5 to 10 years before it will give you a problem. You can have a great life and put off any side effect from surgery.

This is your body and your life. You have the right to live it the way you want

    God bless Ken

    Mike,

FYI: Now days, cancer nodules can also be seen on a multi parametric 3T MRI. If something is seen the MRI image can be combined with ultrasound to target the nodule with a single needle, which is more accurate than the multi-needle approach.

Echoing TKM....what type of biopsy did you have performed? The best is 3T multiparametric ultrasound guided.

Also what are the results of your last few PSA tests and how long apart were they?

    sorry not to respond earlier.

    PSA blood test have been 4.4 in 2018, 4.8 in 2019 and the last 3Qs were 4.3, 4.3, 5.24

First Biopsy 12/2019 with only one core (RLB) of 12 cores found, 6(3+3) gleason.

Second biospy 4/2021 with 2 cores (RLB and RMB) of 12 both 7(3+4) gleason.

    I

Not sure of the name of the biospy but went into day surgery for it--a needle biospy.
