New pain at 9 weeks post op

hi hippies

i don't know what's going on but every time I stand up it's like Ive forgotten how to walk and takes me a few seconds to get my legs moving. When I do I seem to get quite a lot of pain in the operated hip area. I'm not sure if I've overdone the stretching in the pool or if I've got rid of my walking stick too early. I've booked a physio appointment for next week to see what they think. Does this sound normal?  It was all going so well 😕

Doc said it would be 4-6 months to steady myself after sitting. I am 3-1/2 months and getting better every day with this. Takes time.

I met a lady in the shopping centre who had a double hip replacement and explained my problem and she was told no frog legs for a year at least! She was a lovely lady whom I had never met but she was working in a pop up shop and I was commenting that it was a long time standing up when she responded that she had two artificial hips! There the commonality began so i had a lovely chat with a complete stranger but felt a kindred spirit 😊

It certainly feels good to be a hippy

Thanks Madla it's comforting to know that it's probably nothing serious. I too have to get my other hip done but not until next November so hope to be fully healed by then.

I'm sure your next operation will be a success x

Hi,Susan,Please remember that you have had a major op.We are at different levels of recovery.I had my hip done last March,& sadly for me I am not happy. But I had no one to help me with recovery.I had no choice but to get up & mobile as my Husband too has OA of his joints. Also he's severely sighed, deaf.I too suffer from Oa.But we struggle on.Remember to pace yourself.Regards Amanda

      Hi Amanda,

just want to give you MAJOR KUDOS 👏👍👍👍for taking on THR on your own. I hope you will make a full recovery. It takes a year or so in most cases to get pat all the many issues from THR.

I too am my hubs care taker and it is tough. I am sorry that you had no help. I go in next month for revision made arrangements for home care for hubs and I will go into convalescent care after revision.

I feel bad hubs has taken care of me thru 2 THR and now I have to leave him. It's only for a few weeks and I know I can talk with him ever day! We depend on each other for many years and it's hard to be separated away from home. It is for the best for both us I know. Revision of my hip is complicated as the old implant has to be removed.

??Some days you just have to create your own sunshine 🌞🌞🌞🌞🤗

Many heeling blessings sent ur way.🎄🎄🎄

Hi Good Morning to you. Thank-you so much for your sweet message. I hope that all goes well for you. Its not easy being a carer, but I am lost for words at times. We have a lodger here who used to be a carer & she is so lazy and only helped me on my first morning back home !! The rest of the time it was up to me to get on with it. As Hubby is severely sighted, deaf & also with chronic OA like I have. Hes is on pain killers which dont really do him any good at all.I am having reflexology once a fortnight. Happy Christmas & New year. Where about are you from? I am in Surrey. Regards Amanda

OMG , mane your lodger is depressed? Still no excuse to not help out. You have been thru major surgery and with none to little help it's a lot tougher.

Many heeling blessing sent sent your Way!

Happy Holidays to u and hubs🎄

You should still be using a cane. You have not even finished short term healing (3 months) and your muscles are still knitting.

    Take pain killers when needed.

We feel like so much healing has done since we came out of hospital and we've made great progress BUT we still have a long way to go.

    Hi Susan,

You have been mighty quiet....how are you doing?

My therapist had me do pool therapy in a hot springs pool. We walked forwards, backwards, sidewards left, sidewards right for one hour non stop with the water to the armpits, three times per week
