Yes thats normal you will get all sorts of weird pains as you are still healing.remember it a big op you have just had. And sleeping on my non op side took me weeks as it was to painful. But eventually you will be able to with no pain until then it has to be your back use pillows to try and get diffrent positions on your back. Its just part of the recovery. I have had both hips done and it took me a few weeks at least to sleep on my side l just had to keep trying until l was able to. It will come just give it time. And as for the pains l am 12 weeks post 2nd thr and still get hip back and thigh pain now and then don't worry about it.
Good luck
Laura

warm welcome to this wonderful forum of hippies where we share our personal experiences and stories. .
you just had major surgery where your leg/hip was forcefully manipulated to dislocate the joint. ..
protheses had to be banged in, so to speak. ..
The pain you feel is normal. ..
If you think that sleeping on your side causes the pain in the morning, see how it feels when you don't
how are you doing otherwise?
Big warm hug

I know just how awful sleeping on your back is (I had two operations 10 weeks apart, so had to do it all twice), but I really do think it's for the best. ย
The usual advice is, "If it hurts, don't do it"
