I'm no Dr but if you haven't had a period in over 5 years and now bleeding I think you should go get that checked out to make sure everything is ok and get your hormone levels checked

Please get yourself to a gyn and get checked out. This development isn't something you should try to figure out on your own. xx

You might be having something going on inside your uterus, best to go to gyn and get it checked out.  Keep us updated.

Wow Sandra, 39 is really young to be in menopause.  I agree with everyone that you should have this checked out by your gyn.

However having said that, you might possibly be the rare exception to the standard way of doing things.  One of the things that women don't understand, is that just because you aren't having periods, it doesn't mean that your ovaries aren't pushing off some estradiol.  Even at the normal 52 1/2 year age for normal menopause, there are some women who will stop periods, but when tested, will be running an estradiol level of 50 pg/ml.  That isn't enough estrogen to create regular periods, but is a relatively high level of estrogen for meno.  So my thought is, at your young age, possibly you have a higher level of estrogen.  This would stimulate the lining of your uterus and could cause some bleeding.   Possibly this is just one final push from your ovaries.

But by all means get yourself checked out.  And try to do it without worrying yourself to death.  This may be normal for your body.
