no period for 8 years due to implant. had it out for 6 months and still no signs??

my periods have never been right since they started. they were so heavy i couldnt move without feeling it coming out. i went on the pill for about 1-2 years and they became more regular and manageable. i then came off the pill and i didnt have a period for about a year. i met my partner and after around 7 months i had a really heavy period and decided to try the implant to be safe as we didnt want to have children yet, i was on the implant for 8 years and it was great. had no periods at all and was the best decision i had ever made! i have had it removed now for 6 months but have had no signs of getting a period. i have read things about people have a period quite soon after having it removed and i know it is different for everyone but has anyone had similar issues??

Hi Leanne.m1989, I have had the implant for the last 6 years I had no periods during this and I've just had mine out, it was 5 months over due and I didn't know (no pain, periods, no signs) it's been a month and I've had nothing! No pain, no period. It's driving me mad my friends has theirs in a couple of weeks. I just thought I'd let you know I'm going through the same thing, it's not that I want children right now, however I do want them at some point and I don't want the decision to be taken away from me. This is making me feel like it's never going to happen (I'm an over thinker). I wish I had a good answer for you but I just thought I'd let you know that I'm also in it with you.
