Non operative treatment of total hamstring avulsion

has anyone with a complete hamstring avulsion more than 2cm NOT have surgery and how was your outcome. if good what was your rehab program? im 3 weeks from injury and the acute period to operate is closing fast. my doctor can repair but also can let its scar and get PT if i understand the leg will be weaker. its hard ti understand what that means to daily life. appreciate all info!
