Normal sex life with herpes? I've lost hope :-(

Hi I really want to hear from people who suffer from herpes who CAN'T lead a normal sex life? I've suffered for about 4 years now still have random outbreaks but I find its after I have had sex.
I used to have a great sex life be able to have sex 6 times a day and be completely fine.
After I found out I had herpes sex has not been the same. I suffer constant thrush which in itself is a Nightemare but after sexual intercourse once now my vagina is all sore and very swollen the next day I can't even think about having sex again for about 5 days... But on most occasions once the swollen insides has gone I can feel the burning sensation on outer lips and small one or 2 lumps appearing and it's always at the very bottom of the vagina and feels like a tear at the join. So sore and sensitive.
So this then adds on another good few days until my vagina is back to "normal"
I'm so upset by this as I cannot lead a normal sex life like I used to. I am single and have been for years now scared to get into a relationship at the fear of not being able to have a sex life! What man wants someone who can only have sex once a fortnight???!
There must be something that can be done I'm sick of going to doctors and gum clinic to be told its the thrush and nothing can be done.
Please help and advise? Someone must be going through same thing :-(
Thank you xx

Hi, I'm new to this site, I had a bad encounter experience recently and in result found out I contracted herpes simplex virus, and I was prescribed Acyclovir 200mg caps, the doctor instructed to take 1 capsule 5 times daily for 7 days. But so far I Only had 1 outbreak, and it's been some months and still Thank God I'm clear, does that mean I have a mild case? I'll admit I have a high sex drive, but I didn't consent to my ex bf, getting hurt by him and now I have to live with this for the rest of my life. But despite what I been through I still desire LOVE and found someone else who's VERY interested in me... When is it the right time to tell him? I really want to give him a chance but I don't know how to deal with this, I've never contracted anything in my life, and now I have to learn how live with this! When is there a right time to break the news to someone you really like and very likely that intimacy will come into play???

It's more so the soreness after sexual activity . No boys else appears to have this problem so I'm now wondering if it's not herpes related?!
I'm just so frustrated :-( still cant believe I'm going through this. I try and pretend it's not happening but today it's hit home again and I decided to be brave and look online and found this forum

I saw that your girlfriend has herpes and you seem so okay with it. I recently found out I have it and I just don't know how my boyfriend is feeing about it. It makes me so anxious and upset to think about it and he's trying to be strong for me and says it's all okay and he's not going anywhere but I just want to know how it is for you being the boyfriend ? How do you deal with it ? How has it changed your life ? What about your sex life what happened with that ? Do you still look at your girlfriend and find her attractive ?
I'm sorry I've got so many questions Im so scared about it all and so stressed. Hope you can help. Thanks for your time

Whats worse is that i will wash thoroughly and make sure everything has cleared up before i try to have sex again, but as soon as i do it begins again.
Im worried that this, and the lack of sex it caused ruined my last relationship and will ruin this one. If anyone has any help i would love to hear it, if not at least we know we're not alone!

To my disappointment I felt pain during during sex every time. I used lubricating water base but it helped little.
Next time I will take Lisine 1000 mg or Cyclovir 400 mg daily along with the lubricate. Avoid eating all nuts and chocolates products. In the way I am glad I am almost menopausal and sex is becaming less desirable.
Wish you the best!!!
