My GP has prescribed 50mg of Sertraline tablets because I am suffering with anxiety. I have read the package leaflet and I am very worried about taking this medication . I worried that they may make me feel worst. Please can someone give me some advice.

    Hi carm ,

I was feeling exactly the same way , worried of having even more anxiety than before , but my experience has been wonderful apart from a little sicky feeling , a little sleepy that was it , I needed thelp so so much I had to take them an urs been the best move of my life , the leaflet has to tell you the side effects but not everyone will experience them , good luck xx

Dont worry about the tablet its been near enough side effect free for me. Im on 5 weeks and little things are improving so i continue to get better.

Give the tablet 8 weeks and dont jump at the first hurdle, if you get side effects there are meds that can help with that in the short term.

Hi there, I was also worried but generally was fine apart from had some diaherra and tiredness but nothing too bad at all! In fact I found 50mg to not really have ANYT effects, good or bad, so on 100mg which is better, helps a bit anyway and certainly improved my mood and I don’t get tearful anymore. Has helped also with anxiety to some extent! If you do get side effects the GP can give you stuff to alleviate it - that’s what they told me when I started :D x

Some medication works for some people but not for others.  It's very hit and miss.  Sertraline has not agreed with me but it's a wonder drug for others.
